Tree of Life

59 1/2" x 59"
Triptich in silk with cotton embroidery backed by horizontal panels of black and white silk.
Machine appliqued, embroidered and hand quilted.
Set in a polished solid steel base and crowned by decorative filials.

This fanciful piece is an original vision of the Tree of Life influenced by Klimt.
Here, the black bird of prey (death) is the owl, a symbol of intelligence and wisdom.
In keeping with its nocturnal habits, the scene is lit by the light of the moon, giving unity to the piece.
